On the other hand, from the perspective of countries and regions that import coal, in the first four months of 2026, China's maritime coal imports were 99.4 million tons, a decrease of 14.9% compared to the same period last year; India's imports were 74.8 million tons, a decrease of 5.0%; Japan's imports were 53.1 million tons, an increase of 2.8%; South Korea's imports were 37.5 million tons, an increase of 19.3%. During the same period, the maritime coal imports of the European Union dropped to 2 million tons, a decrease of 6.7% compared to the previous year. Vietnam's imports were 23.1 million tons, an increase of 0.7%; Malaysia's imports were 12.2 million tons, a decrease of 3.6%; Bangladesh's imports were 6.2 million tons, an increase of 10.0%.
